Lakefur isn’t the most favorable, likeable, cat in the clan but the most thickheaded, stubborn, hardly even likeable. StarClan however saw him fit as a LeafClan warrior even though his seemingly heinous mind might be at work of something big. Never-the-less Pondfoot keeps him at bay; he would never, ever try to hurt his former mentor and own kin. Most of the time he is just a grumpy old warrior who prefers and choose to be lazy unless he is called upon or needed. Pondfoot gives him the boot of motivation. He doesn’t appear to be much but he is very vital as a warrior. It doesn’t take much to tick this kitty off; hit the right spot and in a flash he would be on top of you like a ton of bricks. Ripping your throat out is the option he might take if he isn’t stopped.
Underneath all that fluff and gruff, Lakefur surprisingly has a soft spot although some searching for it is in order. If you haven’t guessed, Pondfoot already has touched that. It was easy for her because he had simply opened up to her like a flower. If someone other then Pondfoot finds it, they will see the kind and gentle side of him, which is unbelievable for someone like him to express such emotions or feelings. He hardly allows anyone to get so close to him, not even give in to a mate. Kits he rather not bothers with and having an apprentice is out of the question. He would be extremely harsh on them anyhow.
Sure, he shares tongues with the other clan members, talk to them in the best kindly manner he has to offer but they tend to avoid him and his negativity sadly. You also might be wondering about is loyalty to Fallenstar, are you not? It’s there but not as strong. Living in his shadow annoys him. Not much he could do there unless he tries overthrowing him. Again, he respects Poudfoot and knows that she wouldn’t not approve.
So, is it hatred that you feel?
Strike a pose, they are looking at you
But neon tiger there's a lot on your mind
They promised just to pet you, but don't you let them get you
Away, away, oh run
Under the heat of the southwest sun

Lakefur isn’t the most handsome tom in the clan nor is he pleasant to look at. It’s highly doubtable that any she-cat would take him to their liking and that is the way he likes it. He even puts himself at disgust when he spots his own reflection. Although bathing his fur isn’t something he skips or forgets it’s practically part of his daily basis but afterward there is not much of a difference. He stands tall and is somewhat sturdy and as he walks there is a limp, a weakness that shouts out vulnerable if not protected. It was once a wound he received while in a fight with a warrior from another clan. He was bitten in the back left leg and even though it was heal it became weaker and a bit numb.
His build is bulky and heavily muscle bond almost no fat is visible on his bones. When put to it, he can display his sheer power and strength to show that his muscle aren’t there just to be there, something has to be behind it. Claws are needle sharp and when pressure is applied they can penetrate not only skin but also just a half an inch more if desired. Pointing this out again, he is not on to mess with.
His pelt, horrible matted, is a ruff silver gray with extremely pale stripes. His stripes are hardly noticeable and blend right in with his pelt color. His eyes are the exact same as his mothers, a deep dark blue which Pondfoot always bugs him about how they remind her of their mother. But beyond those flashy blues lies something Pondfoot does not like. Something…horrible.
The mark, wear it proud and make it loud!
But neon tiger there's a lot on your mind
They strategize and name you, but don't you let them tame you
You're far too pure and bold
To suffer the strain of the hangman's hold

Lakefur’s right shoulder bares a mark that StarClan believes he greatly deserves. They are two slim black lines, drawn side to side and are an inch, inch and half apart from each other. This he came to a conclusion with that these lines represent him and the Lakekit that came into this world before him. Why this thought entered his mind he will never know but somehow it feels right.
History
I don't wanna be kept, I don't wanna be caged
I don't wanna be damned oh hell
I don't wanna be broke, I don't wanna be saved

I don't wanna be broke, I don't wanna be saved
"Pondfoot, you mother is giving birth again!" The medicine cat yowled over to the jet black warrior who poked her head in to the nursery where she caught the sounds of her mother in pain. Springgrass pregnant, again?! She never said a word! Is Barkfur the father this time? He has to be. Pondfoot remained at the mouth of the nursery, patiently waiting for the new arrivals, her new brothers and sisters.
"He looks just like him, the both of them!" Springgrass was shocked by the close similarities one of her kits had to the father and her previous kit: Lakefoot. Well, he never really did take on that name(*) sadly. The other kit, a female, had light black fur and was different from any other kit she had. "Their names, Springgrass?" The medicine cat politely asked the queen.
Springgrass flickered her eyes over to the Tom, pulled her lips into a smile and spoke: Lakekit and Dawnkit. The Tom was surprised by her decision on the name 'Lake'kit considering the painful loss she and Pondfoot had only a few moons ago. She did not answer him, her eyes had drifted back to her two healthy kits. Then he had remembered his dream, the words of StarClan from the other night:
"At dawn the lake will rise again even more mighty and harsh then before. Yet it will not size up to the gentle pond. However, in the end the green blades will wither and die and the protector of the trees will fall to the ground."
As soon as the last few word fell from his mouth, Springgrass start to abruptly cough and hack and her blue eyes became watery from the painful itch in her throat. This had caught Pondfoot's attention to turn about and dash to wards her mother who was still sputtering coughs. "No, you can't have greencough!" She spoke before the medicine cat had the chance to. Springgrass stopped when she heard her little warrior's voice. She gazed up at her, sending her a calmed look that she is alright.
The medicine cat moved close to Springgrass and examined her once over and said, "Lets not assume anything at the moment, young Pondfoot, but to be on the safe side we'll have to move your kits Springgrass to another queen to nurse on. If you do have this new treacherous disease they might also get it if they continue to nurse from you." Springgrass, wordless, nodded showing that she understood.
Pondfoot looked at her mother for a moment then to her brother and sister who tried to find a nipple for nourishment but the sadden queen pulled her tummy away from them. "Take them to Yellowsky; I know that she will care for them well." She closed her eyes as Pondfoot and the medicine tom took her kits over to Yellowsky who gladly accepted to care for them.
Days after both Springgrass and Barkfur died from Greencough. Springgrass was too weak so the disease took its course quickly and Barkfur, once a strong and noble warrior, ran away to die on his own seeing that chances for riding of it was slim. Pondfoot grieved and the kits, no matter how young they were, felt the heavy sadness and grief around them. They mewed and wailed uncontrollable for the next couple of days.
Moons past since that day and Lakekit and Dawnkit grew into fine young apprentices willing to learn and survive the way of a warrior. The michevious Lakekit was assigned to Pondfoot ironically and Dawnkit was assigned to an orange tabby tom named Redleg. Training the young she-cat was a breeze; she listened carefully, responded well, and had the highest respect for her mentor and others. Lakekit, on the other hand, was just a mess. Off and on he would take things seriously but his mind would be else where. As mentioned, the two did form a strong bond however the relationship between Lakekit and anyone else is almost like enemies. He was kept in line, though, and because of his misbehavior half the time he did not become warrior until after Dawnkit. She was honored with the name Dawndew for her bravery and determination.
When it was his time, his glorious moment, the leader hesitated with the decision but StarClan had insisted and so he was named Lakefur.

Give me rolling hills, so tonight can be the night
that I can send them upon a thousand thrills
Mister, cut me some slack, 'cause I don't wanna go back,
I want a new day and age
